While Sensu are more commonly used when dressed in kimono, there are a few who use it every day.
The sensu's shape (suehirogari) is an example of how everything has a starting point (like the base of the fan), and continually grows upward and outward.
The most commonly used fan, especially during hot summer months, are Uchiwa. They have a rounder shape and do not fold like Sensu.
Many companies hand them out as clever advertising. Sometimes, they don't have handles, but just a hole to hold with your thumb.
Available in singles, or sets of four.
